Dragonfly shuttle from “Once Upon a Time… Space”

Dragonfly ( Libellule ) shuttle from “Once Upon a Time… Space ( Il était une fois… l'Espace )” 3D model of this nice spacecraft design, straight out of the early 80's. For size reference I used images from the series. They are not completely consistent, so I derived scale from the lateral door visible in some episodes and from the large cockpit. This means that the spacecraft is about 110 meters in length. I changed the underside to depict a heat shield. It would be nonsense not to have it, since the craft is meant for atmospheric reentry and fight, even is a fantasy context.   Hummingbird from 4throckrn on Sketchfab .

Skylab B

Although silent, I'm quite busy working the Skylab B series of add-ons! They depict the planned Skylab B international space station, a follow up to the historical US Skylab program. In reality the Skylab B hardware exists and is on museum display. It was identical to the flown Skylab, since it was its flight spare. For this add-on, an alternate reality is considered, based in several proposals by NASA made in the 1970's. The main changes are the lack of the Solar Observatory, the additional docking ports for Soviet spacecraft, and the alternate solar panel positions. This configuration would allow the station to accommodate extended docking or servicing by Apollo, Soyuz, Progress, Salyut and eventually the Space Shuttle. There's a basic “virtual cockpit” with the "Wardroom Window", that faces sideways from the station, so you will have to turn the viewing direction to look outside. Besides the initial Skylab B add-on ( http://ww...

Grumman LEM cockpit II

Working :-)

Grumman LEM cockpit

I'm modeling a simple retro styled cockpit for the Lunar Excursion Module. It's based on Gemini technology, with some allowances for Orbiter's MFDs. It's not historical or based on any actual proposal. The pilot will have the two MFD screens in the panel immediately in front of him, and some (I hope) working indicators on the middle panel (fuel, thrust, altitude, speed, ADI ball, etc). On the right side I'll simply put some switches and generic indicators, just for show.

Grumman LEM

Trying to learn Blender by modeling the early concept for the LEM. Work in progress, but will eventually make it's way into Orbiter Here's an interactive 3D preview:

Zvezda Virtual Cockpit released

This add-on for Orbiter Space Flight Simulator will add a Virtual Cockpit to the ISS Zvezda module. Although complete, the mesh is a little basic on some parts, nevertheless I feel it's good enough for release. As such, I simply added it to an existing Zvezda add-on- the "Zvezda-J" add-on by jekka. There are 2 visible MFDs (on the TORU workstation) and a HUD display over the periscope. This 3D virtual cockpit model is more of a resource for developers than a complete add-on. Feel free to include it on your space-station add-ons and to improve upon it. Get it here:  http://www.orbithangar.com/searchid.php?ID=6083

Illustrations for the Brazilian Space Program add-on

Here are some illustrations for the Brazilian Space Program add-on documentation. They show the VLS-1 rocket configuration (labeled in English and Portuguese) and the launch profile with approximate times.

Modeling the Alcantara Launch Center II

Some images of the final Launch Center model fully textured. Really happy with the results, specially with the vegetation, since my goal was to make a low polygon model for easy export to Orbiter simulator. General view of the two pads: left for sounding rockets, right for the VLS and VLM VLS-1 rocket on pad. The TMI (Mobile Integration Tower) is retracted to a safe distance. After a successful export, here's the Alcantara Launch Center in Orbiter, with the VLS ready to launch.  Alcantara Launch Center in Orbiter

Ultra probe cockpit

I'm working on a virtual cockpit for the Space:1999 Ultra Probe. Textures from my Eagle cockpit are being reused because screenshots from the series are not clear enough to detail all the panels.

Suisei & Sakigake for Orbiter 2010

My Suisei and Sakigake probe models are released as part of an addon for Orbiter Space Flight Simulator.  Get it from Orbiter hangar using this link:  http://www.orbithangar.com/searchid.php?ID=4696 "Suisei & Sakigake - Halley Armada Pt.1 by Jupiter, 4thRock, BrianJ Two Japanese spacecraft launched in 1985 as part of the international fleet of vessels sent to study Comet Halley during 1986. Launched in January and August from Kagoshima on the solid-fuel M-3IIS rocket, the extended missions for these probes included the possibility of flybys of two other comets via Earth gravity assists.   Add-on includes: Suisei & Sakigake spacecraft, M-3IIS launcher, Kagoshima launch pad, launch and rendezvous scenarios, flight notes, comets 1P_Halley, 21P_GiacobiniZinner, 26P_GriggSkjellerup, 45P_HMP (HondaMrkosPajdusakova)."

Columbus MTFF

lmost done with the ESA proposed Columbus MTFF spacestation. It will be a very simple Orbiter addon, with the station in orbit and one docking port. The idea is to provide an alternate destination besides the ISS.

Venera 9 mission simulation released!

(nice video preview by rseferino) My Venera 9 add-on for Orbiter Space Simulator is available at Orbiter Hangar: http://www.orbithangar.com/searchid.php?ID=4234 Here's the documentation: « Venera 9 (Венера-9, 4V-1 No. 660) USSR unmanned orbiter and a lander mission to Venus. by 4throck – 4throckrn@gmail.com Spacecraft description and implementation in Orbiter space sim. The Venera 9 is implemented as two spacecraft (Orbiter+Lander). The meshes are as accurate as I was able to model them. I tried to follow authentic flight hardware photos as much as possible. Please take into account the fact that Russian hardware on display doesn’t have the thermal covers that were actually used for spaceflight and is sometimes painted with different colors for aesthetic purposes. Therefore, my models will look different from some of the Venera 9 replica photos you might see. Texturing could be improved to give a more uniform thermal cloth cover to the orbiter bus, and other small mesh bugs are pr...

Zvezda interior update

Some updated images. Texturing is moving along fine, with the basic walls covered and detailed main panels. Earlier images of Zvezda interior and panels.:
